Since 2014, Alex has guided Cargill on the implementation of its Sustainable Palm Policy, in addition to supporting Cargill’s sustainable coconut oil projects in the Philippines and Indonesia. Alex represents Cargill in a number of industry initiatives and discussions within RSPO and beyond, shaping approaches to achieving a sustainable palm oil supply chain. She currently co-chairs the Human Rights Working Group. Prior to joining Cargill, Alex worked for Olam International for 4 years where she developed the sustainability and stakeholder engagement framework in Olam’s palm plantation ventures. Often travelling to Gabon and greater central Africa, Alex worked closely with their local plantation teams to execute the New Planting Procedure. She also supported the due diligence of upstream projects across other agricultural commodities where no voluntary sustainability guidelines existed.
Alex obtained an MA (hons.) in Arabic & International Relations from the University of St Andrews (Scotland).
